As a training company, we often point clients toward Last Chance Animal Rescue because of their size, credibility, and long history. They’ve been operating since 1999 as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 52-2328626), and their infrastructure makes them one of the most established rescues in the Mid-Atlantic.
Last Chance pulls animals from more than 50 high-kill shelters across multiple states, and partners with over 30 PetSmart and Petco locations to place adoptable cats and dogs. They also run their own veterinary clinic—the Waldorf Well Pet Clinic—where rescued animals receive spay/neuter, vaccinations, and routine medical care before adoption.
What sets them apart is the scale of their operation paired with accountability. They place thousands of animals each year, but every adoption still includes thorough medical screening, spay/neuter requirements, and foster support. From our perspective, that combination of professionalism and care makes them a trustworthy resource for clients who want to adopt responsibly.
